[SDG&E Energy Team PR Video]

Another project produced for SDG&E is their Energy Team PR Video, now playing in locations throughout San Diego as well as on the web. For this WRM used the Canon 5D Mk II DSLR. This technology produces beautiful images at a much higher ISO than has been the case with a traditional HD camera having an ISO of approximately 320. The 5D ran at ISO 800 for most of the shoot. Sunset magic hour for an exterior required bumping the camera up to a sensitivity of ISO 1600. This allowed holding the cobalt blue tones of early evening much later while creating beautiful contrast to the warm lights emanating from inside the home. A 5D advantage is the 35mm sensor and Canon optics for a more selective depth of field and the delivery of nice filmic images. As lighting illuminates the story, the images were sculpted to portray the interaction of SDG&E product and energy saving initiatives with a cast of family members. The 5D’s higher sensitivity allowed us to finesse the lighting details with smaller production and practical lamps – quickly balancing real life with our augmented reality. [View Video]
